ColourCards: What’s Different
Three differences exist between each pair of cards in this set. The task is to identify and explain the differences, encourage a wide range of communication and language skills. The set comprises of 24 pairs of photography showing well-known activities such as:
• Cooking
• Dressmaking
• Gardening
More advanced skills can be used by showing one card and then removing it when you show the second card, thus requiring the differences to be recalled from memory.
Who Will Benefit from this Activity?
ColourCards: What’s Different will be enjoyed by people in all stages of dementia. The outcome of the activity may vary depending on the person’s ability, however for people with dementia, it is important to remember that when participating in the activity, the focus should not be about the activity itself, but the quality and enjoyment of the interaction. It is the enjoyment of the activity that will contribute to their overall sense of happiness and well-being.
